Your concerns are valid. People who uses the even holy communion, cross, annointing oil, etc. without the revelation of Jesus has missed the entire picture. Faith is on the very person of Jesus Christ and not the objects and rituals.

These counterfeit healings are attempts to deceive and mislead; very much like how the original sin - the fall of Adam came about.

However, what I like to mention that it is always God's desire to heal and bless His people. Yes, we are at the mercy of God, but not in a bad way. This is because God's mercy is loving (Gal 1:6), so rich (Eph 2:4) and so full (Jam 3:17).

In the gospels, Jesus has never denied anyone requested healing from Him. He never said "NO", but he did say "<a href="http://kingdavid.wordpress.com/2008/03/26/i-am-willing-be-clean/" rel="nofollow">I am willing</a>."

Thanks for your insights into the Holy Communion.
I'm inclined to agree with you that the reverse of 1 Cor 11:30 is equally true.
Yet, one must realize that whatever blessings - forgiveness of sins, strength, health, motivation and inspiration we receive on partaking of the Holy Communion, comes solely from the free grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It it is at His sole prerogative to give the blessings as the God of love. We're at His mercy, are'nt we?
Which is why, I'm somewhat concerned if anyone should use the 'bread and the wine' as some sort of fetish objects for healing and cures.
In fact, I know of someone who actually practices this, administering what he calls as 'the healing bread.'
You just have to go to this website, (http://hubpages.com/hub/crystal-remedies) to read this quote, "In Christian churches, rituals are performed with the help of crystals (hidden under the altars, in crosses. etc), with the help of the crystals Holy Communion has such a strength and gets its healing and transforming energy."
Although, this article talks about healing gems, it does bring out the syncretic danger of an improper understanding of scriptures.
