God's Intelligent Design, Intelligent DesignI have just started on my latest purchase, this book Intelligent Design: The Bridge Between Science and Theology. I know I’m in for a ride.

Since young, I have always been fascinated by science and how everything works together. The intrinsic relationships of between flora and fauna, between living and non-living, how beautifully evertything comes together. But when I read the idea of Evolution, I got confused. They say science and God cannot co-exist, I very much think otherwise. All science will invariably end with a question mark, this question mark can only points to God.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.   Genesis 1:31

Oh, for Big Bang Theory, my theory is simply this: God spoke and Bang! there it is.

For for than a century, there has been a lot of creation–evolution controversy and nothing much came out of it. Most scientific circle accepted evolutionism simply because they have not other alternative, short of proving God’s existence. And without faith, we all know they are just “chasing their own tails”.

Might as well, since they believed their ancestors had tails.

I have a simple challenge to skeptics who does not believe in God’s Creation by Intelligent Design.

God's Intelligent Design

1. Get a simple Lego set
2. Ensure all the parts are detached.
3. Throw it on the floor all at the same time.
4. See if all the parts come fittingly together.
5. If not, don’t be frustrated.
6. Repeat 2-5.

7. Due to Natural Selection, maybe their children or grandchildren have a better chance.

  1. Matt says:

    A) Dembski’s record on solid scientific research is very poor. Not a great idea to accept anything he says without checking it out yourself first

    B) Your lego analogy is false and indicates a very poor understanding of the Theory of Evolution.

  2. King David says:

    A) It is very easy to be critical of others’ work. I will read and we’ll see.

    B) The Lego analogy is more tongue-in-cheek, but at the very least it shows the plain statistics. Creation (or Evolution as proposed) is way too complex for any short writings. Maybe I should use the Scrabble analogy instead. 😉

  3. “But when I read the Big Bang Theory, Natural selection and Evolution, I got confused. They say science and God cannot co-exist, I very much think otherwise.”

I cannot tell you what to believe, of course, but it is untrue to say you cannot believe in both evolution and God. Plenty of people do. Natural selection and evolution have nothing to do with belief in, or lack of belief in, the existence of God. Do not feel that you cannot believe in both.

  4. King David says:

Good point! I believe science give us a better understanding of creation, at the same time, show us the awesome intelligence and fine work of the Maker.

Science points to God, not against God!

I believe in “micro evolution” where specific living things evolve or adapt to the varies conditions within the species, including natural selection. A natural progression.

However, idea of “macro evolution” where species evolve into other species, the Origin of Species, the “crab-to-fish-to-ape-to-man”, that is against God’s Word and against our basic common sense, is extremely unbelievable.

  5. Most scientists see little, or no, distinction between microevolution and macroevolution. The same processes are involved in both. Other than some sort of isolating factor, speciation requires nothing other that the same processes that govern microevolution.

“Macroevolution” is not extremely unbelievable or contrary to common sense. The vast amount of evidence supporting it makes it extremely believable. This evidence is well-documented. I encourage you to research it.

Nor does evolution contradict the Bible. What it does do, however, is contradict a literal interpretation of the first chapter of Genesis. This is really the only point of contention amongst those who believe in creationism and those who believe in evolution. Evolution neither proves nor disproves the theme of Genesis, that God created the world and all the life in it. Evolution also cannot say exactly WHY common descent has worked out the way it has.

  6. King David says:

As a layman, I am not sure if the process is similiar. But I am sure the Bible is flawless, from Genesis to Revelations.

So looking at the Bible, Genesis 1-2, God made plants, trees, water creatures, birds, livestock, land creatures, wild animals => according to its kinds. And finally God made man according to His own image (note: its singular). There is neither evidence of macro-evolution of cross species, in the bible nor in fossil records nor in human history.

Any book with chapters one and two disputable, the integrity of the entire book is invariably condemned.

But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 2 Peter 3:5

  7. This means evolution can’t be accepted…why?

While I would agree that the Bible is not a place to go looking for specific mention of evolution, history and the fossil record certainly DO speak volumes about evolution. You should research it for yourself further.

  8. King David says:

If you believe the biblical accounts that God created the varies types water creatures and land creatures separately, wouldn’t it be weird that Evolution says land creatures evolve from sea creatures?

  9. ruudt says:

I have only one question for those who believe in a higher power because the world is just to complex… Who or what created that higher power? That higher power most be more complex than the world we livin’ in and must be created by something more complex than itself. And so on and so forth. Catch my drift?

Furthermore I want to add the world isn’t that perfect. (eg: We have bodyparts we don’t need (anymore) and if you look closely you see a lot of design-failures that don’t really matter). There isn’t any proof of a God nor any proof against it. Proof against God is impossible by the way. You can’t proof the non-excisting of something.

  10. King David says:

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. John 1:3

All things existed because God created them. Since God’s existence is way before anything else, there is no way anyone can know anymore than we do now, especially if it is not explained in the Bible. But the Bible did say something about faith: Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:1-6).

So in short, how can something less complex like us understand something so much more complex like God? That’s where faith comes in, and this faith is where our relationship with God is built upon. You don’t need to know where your best friend comes from, you just need to know he is your best friend and he is there for you. You feel me?

The world isn’t perfect. It was, but sin entered and things fell apart (Genesis 3). That is why things failed. But the world will be perfect again, we will have perfect bodies, when Jesus comes again…

There is so much proof that God exist! Personally as a keen student of engineering and nature, it takes bigger gamble to believe a godless-chaos-random earth than with contemplation of Creation so intricate yet so delicate that it cannot come into existence other than by an intelligent & complex Creator.
