The Perfect Indispensable Love of God, All You Need Is Love...

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.   1 Corinthians 13:4-8

In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul was writing to the Church in Corinth to teach them about the importance of love. He wrote that without love, even in the midst the most glorious gifts, amounts to nothing in the sight of God. And in time, without love even these gifts will fade away. Scary uh?

In the middle of the chapter, Paul describle what this love is. What the perfect and indispensable love is all about. While many teachings push us to work towards this goal of love, but I can’t help but know that I fall short of all these requirements, all 15 of them. Anyone able to do all that?

Paul is trying to show what the perfect love is by using as a model, the perfection of how the love of God is. The traits of such perfect love can only be found in Jesus. The passage is not a yardstick to measure our own level of love, but it is to show the prinstine intensity of love Jesus has for us, that is proven and demostrated when He came. The essence of that love that can only come from heaven. Go back up and read again what such love is, that He laid down his life for us.

And in the Vine and the Branches, we are not able to love as such love, unless we first remain in Jesus and His love. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.   John 15:9

My love never fails: Jesus
