Did Jesus Affirm Creation?

In one of my post, Creation God’s Creation and Evolution’s Godlessness, one of the main point of contention was that Jesus treated Genesis as though it actually happened, as with all the apostles. There is no account in the New Testament that they refuted Genesis. In the post, creation was addressed somewhat, through the Scripture from Apostle Simon Peter and Paul.

But I am not really satisfied with that, I want something concrete and straightforward from the Bible, especially from Jesus. If something that is so important and critical, then I am sure Jesus must have affirmed it during His ministry. I didn’t have the answer then, but I didn’t have to wait long for His reply either. When it was revealed, you will see why I was quite amazed because the passages are quite common, sitting just under our noses.

Jesus Affirms Creation

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.   John 17:24 (New International Version)   Context

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.   Mark 10:5-6 (New King James Version)   Context

In the above passages spoken by Jesus, not only did Jesus not refute Genesis, He actually went a step further and affirmed creation as of Genesis. If the Bible says Jesus Himself affirms Genesis, who is to say Genesis is inaccurate? What is your stand then?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?   Matthew 6:26

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?   Matthew 6:30   Context

Jesus Affirms Creation, The Palm of your Hand

More impressively, in the Sermon of the Mount, Jesus further revealed that the Father God is not an absentee father where He left His creation on its own as proposed by theistic evolution. The idea that God used evolution to create the world is simply not right, because any idea of evolution will take God out of the picture completely.

We don’t have an absentee Father. It is God who is ever holding the world on the palm of His hand, looking after it constantly, not left to chance. We are beautifully and wonderfully made. Our Father God is a loving Father that is sovereign and actively taking care of the world, feeds the birds and clothes the field; How much more you?

Don’t let anyone rob you out of that truth.
