What On Earth Are We Doing?

Sometimes we had to wonder why we are here and what on earth are we doing here? In life, there are times when we lose sight, when we don’t know why we should carry on or why? We even question the very purpose of life. These are the times when we have to get back to the basics and find the answers from the anchor of our lives, the Word of God- the Bible.

What On Earth Are We Doing?

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.   1 Corinthians 10:31-33

Paul tells us believers that we have been put on this earth to bring glory to God in everything we do. God’s glory is the manifestation of all that He is; His stunning perfection, His amazing love, His tender mercy, His amazing grace, His glory is seen in His truth, justices, wisdom and power. All these are represented in the beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we know how God is like. And because everything was against Jesus at the cross; today, nothing is against us – nothing can come against us. There is nothing but the love of God towards us, it all happened at the cross. The finished work of Jesus

To glorify Him, means we have the highest privilege of showing Him off in a world that is totally unaware of what He is really like. We, the royal priests, represent God to the world. We, on one hand, worship the God Almighty and on the other hand, serve the people. Acts of kindness and mercy to the undeserved, grace to the needy, forgiveness to the offender, healing to the sick, living wisely and richly according to His will – all will give glorious visibility to the character and quality of our God.

There are a lot of misconceptions about our God in the world, even within the body of Christ. It is up to us to let them see what our loving God really is like.
