The Power of Your Thoughts, Thoughts in the light - Pensieri nella luce

Many people are not reaching their full potential because their thinking patterns are defective. There are many spin-offs with books/seminars/courses marketing success in the form of positive reinforcements or positive thinking. The world has made a science and method out of positive thinking without any real foundation; we believers on the other hand, have the Word of God as our foundation, faith and hope.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7 (AB)  If a man counts the cost in his heart when giving a treat, he is not generous but stingy in reality. Similarly, it is the inward thoughts that determines how our lives will be lived and what kind of fruit we will produce. See Matthew 15, Jesus Teaches about Inner Purity.

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.  Colossians 3:1-4

We are called to set our sights on the realities of heaven, on Jesus Christ who sits in the place of honor at the right hand of God! Day in day out, we are bombarded by bad news, negative sentiments, poor reports, disappointing feedbacks, human failures, clouded with grim and hopelessness; anyone can be severely hampered emotionally by them. But once we think of positive ‘realities of heaven’ and not the things of earth, our perspective changes dramatically, even if the circumstance didn’t change.

If we are to share in all the glory with our Lord Jesus Christ, who sits in heaven at God’s right hand; Gosh! what else is there to be afraid of or worried about?

The Power of Your Thoughts, thinking deep thoughts

Everyday we should reinforce and set our mind in gear that we are set in Christ who sits at God’s right hand in heaven. Let that message sink in! Know that the power of our thoughts established in Jesus is rock solid and positively grounded; nothing on this earth can ever get us down if we don’t allow it to. Don’t start your day in neutral and decide later based on events happening how your day is going to be; start pro-actively and decide your day with your thoughts in the right positive direction in Christ.

Like King David, tell yourself: “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad. I will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankfulness in my heart. And whatever I do, it will be unto my Lord Jesus with all my thanksgiving to Him too!” With such thoughts in our mind, see how the power of God through our thoughts gloriously manifests.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Colossians 3:16

    Hi Jonie,

I am half-way across the global from you so I didn’t exactly hear Pastor Joel Osteen preached. 😉 I was inspired by some of his writings though.
