The Exceedingly and Super Abundantly God

“Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7:9-11

The Exceedingly and Super Abundantly God, Joy Surrounded

We all know how to give good gifts to our loved ones. Even when strangers approached us for something, we don’t give instead something ridiculous or something deadly. The teaching from Jesus as recorded in Matthew, was also recorded in Luke, see here. Why only these two gospels? Here’s a clue: Recall that the gospel of Matthew speaks of Jesus from the kingly position and Luke speaks of Christ from a humanly perspective, see here.

Did you ever see, hear or read about a stingy miser king? Hardly, I suppose. Or as humans do we ever give a deadly snake or scorpion to our loved ones? I don’t think so. So the point is if we lousy sinful people don’t behave like that, would our Father behave like that? Of course not! So if someone tells you poverty, illness and diseases are inflicted by God, then these are lies and we must kill these lies the enemy has planted before it set root in us.

On the reverse, we must open our mouths to ask for good things! “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8   Don’t ask for sufferings and inflictions, so that we can be “made more holy”. I was really caught by surprise when I attended a more traditional church where they prayed to suffer with Christ. Wasn’t Christ suffering done and sitted on the right hand of God? Well, I have a lot to say about that but this is not the time. Okay, going back, if God’s answer doesn’t come immediately, continue to persevere to seek and knock, like the persistent neighbour. God’s timing never misses a beat.

On top of that, God in His Word tells us to have a good expectation that is exceedingly, superabundantly, far and above all we dare ask or think of! Wait, think about it again. “Exceedingly, superabundantly, far and above all we dare ask or think of“.

The Exceedingly and Super Abundantly God, Wheat Kings

I didn’t say this, the Bible did:

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]– Ephesians 3:20 (AB)

We find on earth, kings are generous and fathers are loving. So what more so for the King of kings and our Father in heaven. If we can just understand God’s unlimited resources where He is waiting to pour forth on you. He is waiting for you to come experience Him in spirit, that you can understand how wide, how long, how high, how deep and how complete Christ love for you is. He is not a miser and unloving God, He is the exceedingly, superabundantly and lovingly God.
