On Love

Wise and loving parents will nudge their children from dependence towards personal freedom, hoping to groom independent adults.

Deep lovers, on the other hand, gladly give up this personal freedom into voluntary dependence on each other. In marriage, for example, one yields to another not out of compulsion and need, but out of love.

For God, I suppose, yearns for not the clingy and helpless, I-don’t-have-a-choice kind of love, but mature, thoughtful commitment, given freely out of choice kind of love.

If those words made sense to you, hope it helped.
I know it did for me…
