Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand.

But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.   2 Corinthians 3:15-4:4

The (Mosaic) covenant of God with Moses has glory, but in a very limited way. If you obey the law and meet all it’s requirements, then God will bless you, but if you fail to meet the law, then God will have to curse you. Since then, actually no one can fully meet the pristine standard of the law as revealed by Jesus. However, what Moses encountered on Mount Sinai, the very same Spirit of The Lord, is now dwelling in the very hearts of believers. This is a fulfillment of the new covenant through Jesus Christ

Although from the same source, one is through the law carved on cold stones, but the other though the Spirit carved into our warm hearts! With the NEW covenant, the veil is removed and we have a new found freedom in Christ. This transformation is based on a new way of understanding God’s revelation: Jesus Himself, the One who reveals God’s glory, is the very image of God. And by His Spirit, we can experience a new way of living and come to reflect His glory, the greater glory of Jesus Christ!
