Take Possession By The Father's Favour

For they [God’s people] did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favoured them.     Psalm 44:3

The world judges success by your qualifications, talents and experience; it was the basis for your status, promotions, salaries and ultimate worth in life. But really?

We, as God’s beloved children, need not be limited by what the world dictates, because we did not possess the world by our own effort. Unlike what the ugly world does, we don’t struggle to attain anything. Fallen human’s best efforts and righteous deeds, are nothing but filthy rags in God’s eyes. (Isaiah 64:6)

So either we face a certain doom, or instead, we can depend solely on God-the Father’s favour—His unmerited, unearned, undeserved grace! In Ecclesiastes 9:11, even in the natural, the race does not automatically goes to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned. This means, contrary to common believe (or myth), even if we are not the fastest, the strongest, the smartest or even the best looking; our God can still give us good success when we depend on His grace and not on our nature strength. It is His right hand and His favour that provides for us, that fights for us, that defends us and gives us what we don’t deserve. His right hand speaks of the Father’s best effort, His full power and commitment; to be there for us.

Our “disqualifications” is our very qualification; for His favour and grace. So instead of melodizing on your failures and defeats, let us raise up and declared the Father’s goodness and grace! Taking possession of your situation by The Father’s favour! Have a good expectation of good things to happen to you! Be conscious of His favour. Believe it. Confess it. And experience it!

“But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – Jesus Christ (John 16:33)
