Old book and dried roses

We all have a choice to choose where we like to dwell or stay. Physically, our homes, the surroundings, our careers, our ministries, and the people around us will all have an impact on our lives, whether we like it or not, positively or negatively. For some, they chose to dwell in their past failures or even a loss of loved ones. Without coming out of their dwellings, mentally they cannot progress further.

In the hard realities of the world; in the face of impending doom or gloom often thrown at you, where do you choose to dwell? Wherever you choose to camp, very often already determines where you probably ends up, your very destiny.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalms 91:1-2

In the jaws of winter

Escapism is the tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy. But to place our trust and hope in the very Living Hope, Jesus Christ (1Peter 1:3) is not fantasy but an exercise in faith. Just simply knowing that the Shepherd will lead you out of the wilderness or darkness, will empower you to push out your first step.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. John 10:11-13

When the wolf is coming, where do you choose to dwell?

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. […] Then the God of peace will be with you.   Philippians 4:8-9

We are coming to the end of the year and it is the time where we are feeling festive and blissful. We put down the bad and the ugly behind,  looking forward to a new beginning. And that’s really good. The bible says, fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable, what is right and what is pure and lovely. What is admirable and things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

little big friendsYou see, we are being constantly ‘bombarded’ by terrors, uncertainty, diseases/viruses, and so many other negative things, that if we dont have a counter, we will then go on a slow spiral down into depression and sickness. Your mind will be trouble, your spirit will be down and finally sickness appears for a final countdown.

Happy thoughts!

That’s what the world can offer at best, keeping fixing on whatever happy thoughts you can gather and keep replaying in your mind. But dear brother and sisters, we have something even more power and everlasting. What is more true and right and pure and lovely and admirable and excellent and worthy of praise?

It is this: That God, Christ Jesus, Himself, left and gave up His own majesty and divinity to come into this world. Willing suffered at the hands of the very creation He wanted to save. To redeem us from our sin by taking our sin on Himself and suffered its consequences. After exhausting all the judgement and punishments on our behalf, Christ Jesus died a sorrowful death.

By His death – we are given life, by His strips – we are healed, by his sorrows – we rejoice. Out of love, to save you and I from eternal damnation. Think of such thoughts:

  • That you are so preciously loved that Christ Jesus so willing to die in your place.
  • That God will redeem you out of whatever bad situation you are in because He had redeemed you from the worst.
  • That God Himself will restore what you have lost and will be above what you have originally lost.
  • That Christ has done all that needs to be done, we are rest fully in His perfect work.
  • That you are not caringly nurtured, truly blessed,  and highly favored because you are children of the Almighty God.
  • That you are forever, saved and redeemed for eternity in heaven, a place Christ personally are preparing for you.
  • That we have such an awesome and wonderful God that is so worthy of praise.

Such are the happy (excellent) thoughts!

Have a blessed Christmas full of revelation of Christ Jesus!

More Love in My Life

Dear Lord Jesus, I want to understand and sense more of the depth of Your love for me. Fill me with Your love today so that it overflows to others. I know that Your love is greater than even the strength of faith and hope. Let the fullness of Your love in my life bring healing and wholeness to the all parts of me. Where I have felt unloved, I pray You would fill and heal that wound with Your love. Free me to love others the way that You do, and I know the mark of love will last for all eternality. We love because You first loved us. Thank you, Lord.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Mystified

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues?
Fix my eyes on God – soon I’ll be praising again.
He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.

When my soul is in the dumps, I rehearse everything I know of you,
Then God promises to love me all day, sing songs all through the night!
My life is God’s prayer.

Sometimes I ask God, my rock-solid God, “Why did you let me down?
Why am I walking around in tears, harassed by enemies?”
They’re out for the kill, these tormentors with their obscenities,
Taunting day after day, “Where is this God of yours?”

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues?
Fix my eyes on God – soon I’ll be praising again.
He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.

Clear my name, God; stick up for me against these loveless, immoral people.
Get me out of here, away from these lying degenerates. I counted on you, God.
Why did you walk out on me? Why am I pacing the floor, wringing my hands over these outrageous people?

Give me your lantern and compass, give me a map, So I can find my way to the sacred mountain, to the place of your presence, To enter the place of worship, meet my exuberant God, Sing my thanks with a harp, magnificent God, my God.

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues?
Fix my eyes on God – soon I’ll be praising again.
He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.

Psalms 42-43

Wait for me… Lift me.
I will soon be praising again… He’s my God…

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for the wonderful life I have, and because it was Your life for mine. You took my cursed life and made it good. You are my source of my inheritance and blessings. I am rich and highly favoured. I am fully protected in You and are restful in You. I am deeply loved by You. My heart is glad and joyful as Your Holy Spirit leaps and carries me. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lord, You alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.
The land You have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!

I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.

No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Psalms 16:5-11

A Prayer To Stand Strong In Times Of Weakness

Dear Lord Jesus, I draw close to You to dwell in Your wonderfully presence. I cannot face all that is ahead of me unless You are with me to give me strength. You are my help in time of need, and You are my shield in the midst of the battle. I need Your strength and power in my life today to sustain me and keep me standing strong. I confess that sometimes I feel too weak and tired to do what You have called me to do-even in my everyday life, but you give me the will to persevere. Thank You for helping me to stand strong at all times. I know I will win, because You are with me.

In Jesus’ name. Amen

We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.

In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.

Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone.   Psalm 33:20-22

Never Forget The Good Things Christ Has Done For Me

Let all that I am praise The Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalms 103:2-5 NLT)

Never forget that…
