Nature Lover

Sometimes going pass lush greeneries, I will stand and admire their simplistic beauty and form. In their randomness, I see order of life. In their colors and variety, I see creativity. In their propagation and growth, I see a care-taker.

However, in the concrete jungle, humans created for humans, people living in it are the king of their own urban world. Things work because people made them work. Lights are a flick of the switch away, water is simply a turn of the tap and we even control the temperature of our spaces. Feeling very “powerful” in our own artifical environment, we think and believe like we are our own god, where we control almost every thing.

But once place in nature, where we don’t control anything, we will easily feel the smallness of man. We are vulnerable and frail. The false sense of security, the self-centerness and power goes out the window. We would then feel like the mere human we really are, and will know instinctively that there is a higher power at work. Something invisible, yet visible right before our eyes.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. Psalms 19:1-5

Put it in another way, the order and complexity of the visible, physical universe eloquently testify to the very existence of a creative God.

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. Romans 1:20

Whatever you maybe facing, stop looking at your troubles. Instead, take a step back and gaze at nature just around you and you be amazed what was troubling you in the first place do look a lot smaller. Not convinced? Take a look at the chirpy wild sparrows; and know WHO is ultimately in charge.

What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:29-30
